I started exploring the idea of creating a collection inspired by the art retreat I hosted in 2023 to Costa Rica. This is the beginning of that journey. I am captivated by the movement and abstraction of this palm tree. The inspiration stems from the many palms I painted while I was there, as well as the laid-back, loving lifestyle of the people. "Pura vida" encapsulates a way of life centered on enjoying life's little pleasures, slowing down, and living fully. This was the essence of our retreat. 
 
Costa Rica had been a dream destination for many years, and the experience exceeded my expectations. This painting is a beautiful reminder of that magical time. It embodies the gentle art of slowing down, embracing the present moment, and absorbing life's inevitable shocks with grace. "Gentleness absorbs the shock from life's unavoidable collisions. I can't wait to return and immerse myself once again in the beauty and tranquility of Costa Rica.
